Hello to all ! The skies were gray on Sunday, and we had light rain throughout the day. Saturday was a gorgeous day, sunny but warm with a slight breeze. We mowed our yard in two hours. I do not know how that happened. We were not going super fast but were sure glad to get it done as there was rain Monday with chances of rain on Tuesday. Now, I do not completely rely on the forecast. The rain may fall north to south, but we try to prepare as much as possible. We planted daisies gifted by my sister this week along with some other bulbs and some weeds. I love wildflowers and many others. The yellow flowers that grow tall in the fields are pretty, and they also had some vines with four petal purple flowers. I sure hope they grow and spread. We have a gorgeous dark pink flower growing in the woods edge, and we are hoping to transplant it in the fall.
As you know by now, we love our birds. We have many various breeds. Sunday morning, believe it or not, James saw an albino cardinal. It is white with some pinkish red back, tail feathers and wings. It was a blessing to see such a rare thing. We have indigo buntings, eastern bluebirds, wrens, red house finch, yellow finch, red breasted grosbeak, cardinals, doves and a downy woodpecker to name a few. James washed and refueled the hummingbird feeder today. We bought some flowers for our pots and, as usual, bought too many, but I will find a way to use them – LOL. We were very impressed with a red variegated salvia and bought it from Four Seasons. They also had a beautiful purple flower called Angelonia. They are several inches tall, and I am using them in pots. Most all of our work is in the back because that is where we are most of the time. I do a little out front as we do visit the front porch on occasion
Billy Joe Seaton’s furbaby is at it again. He roams free a lot in front of the house, and he has a way to come back in. One night as BJ was watching television, Bandit went crazy running around the house. BJ got up to see what was going on and just in time to see him chasing a squirrel. He got to it before BJ could, so the next day BJ had to hide the body so he could not get to it. Boy, Bandit is superfast! I bet he scared that poor squirrel to death. There was one broken jar of jalapenos in the pantry and never a dull moment with this young fella around – LOL.
Remember that this coming Sunday, May 9, is Mother’s Day. If you are blessed to still have your mother, visit or give her a call.
