Hello to everyone!
I truly hope you all had a good week. I send my sympathy to all those sick and hurting and those who have lost loved ones. There is so much going on around us. I know it can not be a good week for all at any one time. Sunday was partly cloudy in the afternoon. The forecast called for rain Monday and Tuesday. Then, the temperatures are supposed to drop into the 70s, and Friday night has a low of 46. We will see how this forecast holds together.
I enjoy wildflowers sooooo much! Most people think they are just weeds, but I see beauty. Many colors and types to enjoy. We have a bush with orange berries, and it is gorgeous! If you love flowers, just look around for those God sends and pick a few. Cut the stem off diagonal and place in water. Enjoy. I have read to change the water every other day and to re-cut the stem end. Hydrangeas can be removed and placed in a dark, dry, cool place to dry out and then you can use them any time of year. You can even spray paint them and finalize with a topcoat of sealant. It seems our birds have forsaken us, but I know they are taking a break, and I am looking forward to their return. We continue to have a few hummers. Our impatiens and geranium are still pretty, and the salvia is slowly leaving. I want to replace a few things in pots. I will report back on this.
I am sure many are looking forward to the 43rd Chester County BBQ Festival on Friday and Saturday Sept. 24 and 25. The weather is supposed to be great, and I hope there is a BIG turnout for the occasion.
It was great to see Chester County is going to have a childcare center. They are hoping to get everything completed and up to standards for the state certification hopefully by Jan. 2022. I do feel this would be beneficial to the residents and others who travel to this area and are in need of this support. Some of the Chester County Economic Recovery Plan is being supplied to help this endeavor. I am also glad to see gymnastics and cheer being offered at East Chester Elementary by West Tennessee Gymnastics & Cheer Academy. It is nice to have this opportunity offered in town rather than parents trying to coordinate trips out of town for such things.
Happy birthday to Faye Connor, Allison Roe and Jerry Hudson, 9-20; Dana Berry and Nicholas Newman, 9-21; Robert Brewer, Caret Barham, Chris Cooper and Barry Ward, 9-23; and Elizabeth Burton, 9-26.
Happy anniversary to Cissy and Tom Nichols, 9-19; and Nicki and Kirk Bray, 9-22.
Please continue to remember these in prayer Chelsey Baker, Randy Baker, Sheila Berry, Charlie Brewer, Robert and Joyce Brewer, J.T. Butler, Jackie Chambers, Charlene Koonce, Nancy McCaskill, LaVelle Page, Pam Priddy, Jesse Pugh, Todd Rencher, Doris Rowlett, Dwain Seaton, Jr., Randy Sells, Dalton Seratt, David Tucker, Tony Tucker, Katherine Wyatt and Adam Wise. Also, please pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and its leaders, those affected by COVID and first responders. There are many sick and hurting. Please say a prayer for those; even if you do not know their name, God does. Prayer is not an obligation; it is the greatest privilege we have. Pray yourself through each day.
Three Ingredient Pumpkin Fluff – You will need one 15 ounce can of pumpkin, one 8 ounce tub of cool whip, one 5 ounce box of instant vanilla pudding mix (do not make the pudding), one teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (optional). Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. May spoon into an individual serving glass, serving bowl or into a graham cracker pie shell (delicious). Chill for one to two hours. Serve and enjoy.
1 Corinthians 13:13 – “And now these three remain: Faith, Hope and Love but the greatest of these is LOVE.”
I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home.

Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
