Hello, everyone! Saturday was a beautiful, sunny day. The weather was great for almost anything a person would want to do outside. We mowed our BIG “yard” yesterday. The weather was great for mowing. It was a little warm, but the breeze made it enjoyable. I grew up using a push mower in the city of Jackson and was grown when daddy got a riding mower. We used hand clippers to trim around the house, bushes and curb. We also raked when the grass was tall, so now I do not mind taking care of what we have although aging does make a difference. James painted our banisters this past week. They look really good and will be finished when this paper is out. Next, we will trim some bushes in the front, and if the weather does not stop us, I hope we can divide some iris. Our hummers seem to have left now. We are seeing a few birds, but I guess we are still in the in-between season.
Monday was Columbus Day, and I have learned the schools are out this week. I imagine there will be some traveling for a break during this time and others will just have some downtime to enjoy. I hope everyone stays safe and enjoys this time. Next is Thanksgiving and then Christmas! Can you believe it? Have you decorated for Fall? I will have the inside done by Monday but not much. It is different when the kids are gone. It was supposed to rain Monday, and temperatures are supposed to drop by next weekend. I am looking forward to that. I hope people that burn wood for heat have some stored up. I have seen our area is supposed to have cold and snow – hmmm?
Jacks Creek Fire Dept on Hwy. 100 E will be having their annual stew sale on Saturday, Oct. 30. It will be ready between 10:30-11 a.m.
