Hello to all! Here is wishing you all have a good week. Today is Sunday, 3-27; the sky is gray with a slight breeze noted. Mother nature continues to keep us guessing. We are supposed to have warmer days Tuesday and Wednesday with rain expected Wednesday, and most of the week, the daytime temperatures should be in the 60s. We have a few birds visiting, and we are ready for the hummers. Some of the trees are beginning to green up, and I will be glad to see leaves again on the trees. God in His infinite wisdom is working in nature as He does in us-all in good time.
We enjoyed a message from Bro. Glen King with the Gideons this morning at Friendship Baptist Church. He spoke on Romans 10:17 – “So then faith cometh from hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” We had some visitors today and were very glad to see them and hope they come back soon.
I know it was nice to have a spring break, but now, it is back to the grind again. It will not be long until summer break. Graduation is getting closer, and for seniors, it will be up and onward to a new journey towards adulthood. Most are taught from childhood how to behave and right from wrong. It is hard in school, but it is even harder when you have more freedom. There will be many choices to make, and some you will live with the rest of your life, good or bad, but we do not have to beat ourselves up. There is not one perfect person on earth. We all make mistakes, but hopefully, we learn from them. Also, know that just because a person attends church or has been baptized does not mean they will not sin, but they will have the conscience to know what they are doing is wrong. Look to God for your answers. Ask Him for help on tests and other things you have prepared for. I did, and He never failed me. You will do well, and I pray for your safety, success and happiness in life. God bless.
Happy birthday to Lauren Lofton, 3-27; Jan Priddy, 3-28; Ann Pusser, Bro. Glenn Harris and Karsyn Knipper, 3-30; and Jennifer Williams and Claire Garrison, 4-1.
Happy anniversary Phyllis and Bill Wood, 3-29.
Please continue to remember these in prayer Randy Baker, Sheila Berry, Robert and Joyce Brewer, J.T. and Jeanette Butler, John Butler, Jackie Chambers, Kase King, Maryann Lackie, LaVelle Page, Nancy Parker, Pam Priddy, Jesse Pugh, Todd Rencher, Jake Richardson, Gina Robinson, Kristi Taylor, David Tucker, Tony Tucker and Adam Wise. Also, please pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and its leaders, those affected by COVID and first responders. There are many sick and hurting. Please say a prayer; even if you don’t know their name, God does. Prayer is not an obligation; it is the greatest privilege we have. Pray yourself through each day.
“Born Again Christian” by Randy Flanagan – “He’s a Born Again Christian Follows a new path upon this Earth Now forgiven of his past Sins The collection cleansed since his Birth. Today he walks in the Light For the Gospel he has heard And there’s joy in his Heart As he spread’s God’s Sacred Word. Angels guide his footsteps His eyes focused upon the Son No fear as he draws his sword For each battle has been won. His days of worry behind him Now Faith leads him ahead. What once appeared so hopeless Victory lies before him instead. As a child he spoke as a child Behind him his childish ways For now he’s a Child of God Marching forward to better days. Yet life isn’t always easy, Even now no bed of roses, Struggle and temptation never ending ‘Til the book of life here closes. For there’s a better home awaiting Past the clouds beyond the sky Where our new life will continue When to Earth we say Goodbye.”
“There’s no storm that God won’t carry you through. No bridge that God won’t help you cross. No battle that God won’t help you through. No heartache that God can’t help you let go of. He is so much bigger than anything you will ever face. Leave everything in His hands. Embrace each day confidently, knowing that He will take care of you.” – unknown
I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings.
Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are ‘hungry’ for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
