Pleasant Springs United Methodist Church will hold Easter Sunrise Service at 7 a.m. Sunday, April 17. Breakfast will follow this service in the fellowship hall. Please bring a breakfast item to share.
Bethel Baptist Church at 125 St. Rt. 125, Henderson, just past Chickasaw, will have sunrise service at Chickasaw State Park at 7 a.m. Sunday and breakfast served at the church afterwards. Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. and worship service at 11 a.m. Immediately after there will be an Easter egg hunt for the children. Come join us.
Do you know why eggs are significant at Easter? Eggs represent new life and rebirth, and it is thought that this ancient custom became a part of Easter celebrations. In the medieval period, eating eggs was forbidden during Lent (the 40 days before Easter) so on Easter Sunday, tucking into an egg was a real treat!
