Hello to everyone! I hope it has been a good week for all. The sky was blue, and the clouds were puffy and white on Saturday. Our flowers in pots are in need of water every day, and the ones in the ground are about gone. James cut several limbs off our trees in the front yard, so now I will not get slapped when I mow. That was a HOT job. Our birds are not eating much. Guess it is the heat or maybe the front coming in. Our grass is browning out between the army worms and regular seasonal changes. We did mow and will be glad when that is over for this year. We still need to trim bushes and do things outside to prepare for cold weather. I am sure most of us are in the same boat. I am certainly looking forward to the cooler days this next week and praying the storm coming in at the gulf does not get too bad. I also hope it misses Waverly.
We continue to hear and see updates on the situation in Afghanistan. We are very saddened by the loss of lives both civilian and military. The main thing we can do is trust in God and pray.
Billy Joe Seaton is sure enjoying his companion Bandit. Bandit is growing and feels right at home, sitting on the floor and watching the train go around and around the tracks. I can not imagine a furbaby being that calm. Also, Brenda Seaton along with her sister Tiny Seaton-Head attended a memorial for the president of her senior high school class, Brad Sipes. Tiny lives in another state. She also was able to spend some time with family, which included a great visit with Melba Seaton. Prayers for safe travels back home.
Chelsey Baker was involved in a car accident last week which required surgery. She teaches Special Ed. in another state. The surgery went well, but she now has healing in addition to pain and wanting to get back to school with her students. This occurred just before the school year started. Please pray for healing and recovery.
We enjoyed our fifth Sunday singing and potluck meal Sunday night at Friendship Baptist Church. Our new music director not only knows music but can also be funny.

Also, please pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and its leaders, those affected by COVID and first responders. There are many sick and hurting. Please say a prayer for those; even if you do not know their name, God does. Prayer is not an obligation; it is the greatest privilege we have. Pray yourself through each day.
