This week, I open with a beautiful inspirational thought from Sarah Guillory. “October had tremendous possibility. The summer’s oppressive heat was a distant memory, and the golden leaves promised a world full of beautiful adventures. They made me believe in miracles.”
In prayer requests this week, continue to pray for Bill Siler as he continues his care at Christian Care Center. Gwen Lindley is scheduled for her surgery in the next few weeks. Also, continue to remember families affected by hurricane Ian.
In upcoming events Piney Grove Baptist Church will have their fall revival Oct. 17 beginning at 7 p.m. Monday through Friday night. They are planning their fall fest Oct. 22. Mary Lynn Lambert shared that the children enjoyed their day vacation Bible school. The teachers enjoyed working with the children and sharing Bible stories. Bro. Howell changed his profile and everyone enjoyed their VBS preacher.
Supporters and friends were pleased at the funds raised at their recent pot luck meal. The food and desserts were delicious, and everyone seemed to enjoy talking with friends.
The city council met on Oct. 10 for a meeting and to work on Christmas lights. Stay tuned for one of Silerton’s biggest and brightest Christmas holidays yet! If you are feeling in the holiday spirit, ask the mayor or aldermen how you can help. The town would really appreciate extra help this year making it special!
