The Christmas season is just around the corner! I hope that everyone had an enjoyable and safe Thanksgiving holiday. The Beshires family celebrated Linda Beshires’ birthday on Nov. 18. We ordered curbside barbeque from Richard’s Barbeque in Bolivar and had strawberry chocolate cake from Dumplings.
Frankie and Mary Lynn Lambert took the great-grandchildren to the Silerton city park over the Thanksgiving holiday and thoroughly enjoyed the new play equipment. I noticed several other families visiting the playground throughout the holiday weekend. Otto enjoyed the swings tremendously and had fun pushing the merry-go-round in circles while he tried to spot tractors.
Mary Lynn shared news of how other folks celebrated their Thanksgivings.
“Alfred and Jonna Ewing enjoyed the Thanksgiving Holiday with their daughter and family. Rob and Amber VanDyke and children traveled from Toledo to spend the holiday in Tennessee.”
Mary Lynn also asks that we “continue to pray for Melanie Ross. She is now receiving rehabilitation at Shepherd’s Center in Atlanta, Ga. She will be there through Dec. 27. Brenda Cooper was readmitted to Jackson-Madison County Hospital on Wednesday, Nov. 25. She would appreciate your prayers.”
The Christmas decorating on Dec. 5 has been cancelled due to COVID-19. The mayor and aldermen will ensure that the park has some holiday lights, but there will be no group gathering this year. The town meeting on Dec. 4 is cancelled as well.
