The winter months can bring on mixed feelings of hibernation or waiting for spring, but for some it can be a time of beauty. To quote Jean Paul Sartre: “To read a poem in January is as lovely as to go for a walk in June.”
Lots of folks are celebrating January birthdays in Silerton. We had a stair step group starting with Carolyn (Chandler) Vales birthday on Jan. 14 followed by Marvin Sykes on Jan. 15, and Frankie Lambert on Jan. 16. My birthday is Jan. 20, and Richard Crowley’s birthday is on Jan. 24. Otto Beshires’ birthday is on Jan. 31. Mary Lynn Lambert shared that for Frankie’s birthday they “enjoyed a meal at Cracker Barrel in Jackson to celebrate his 75th birthday on Saturday, Jan. 16.” Joining them were Larry and Anita Lambert and Richard and Rita Crowley.
Kevin, Otto and I visited my parents in Knoxville during the weekend of Jan. 16 and had some early birthday celebrations. My parents surprised us each with our own cakes. My cake was mocha flavored from Magpies Bakery. Otto’s cake was an ice cream cake. Both were delicious!
Condolences to the family of Jean (Ross) Deming. Also please keep Robert Gibson and Brenda Cooper in your continued prayers. Brenda Cooper is still in the Jackson rehab center.
