Several Silerton residents shared some warm highlights from their recent Christmas holidays. Alfred and Jonna Ewing enjoyed having their daughter Amber Van Dyke and family for the Christmas holiday. On Tuesday, Dec. 28, Frankie and Mary Lynn Lambert traveled to the Pyramid in Memphis with the Van Dyke family. They enjoyed a ride on the glass elevator going to the top of the pyramid. The group also had a nice meal in the restaurant together. Unfortunately, the rain and cold weather shortened their view time on the glass overview.
Richard, Rita and Rick Crowley enjoyed having their family home for the Christmas holidays. Andrea is located in Austin, Texas. Allen and his family reside in Atlanta, Ga.
Congratulations to Matthew Naylor Harris and Heather Kaye Hanna. They exchanged their wedding vows on Dec. 31 at the Silerton Baptist Church. Brother Charlie Crouthers, pastor, performed the ceremony. Matt and Heather are making their home in Silerton in the home of Matt’s late great-grandparents.
On a somber note, prayers and condolences for Heather Harris and family. Heather’s mother, Marilyn Hanna, passed away after a long battle with cancer.
Our thoughts and prayers also extend to David Howell, pastor at Piney Grove Baptist Church. His daughter is currently dealing with COVID.
In travel news Frankie and Mary Lynn Lambert enjoyed an overnight stay in Grand Rivers, Ky., with Frankie’s daughters and their husbands. They enjoyed a stay at Patti’s Inn and Suites. They also enjoyed a delicious meal at Patti’s restaurant and then shopping in the settlement area. The Christmas light tour around the settlement was most enjoyable in spite of a misty rain.
