Notice of an Application for Merger of Bank Holding Companies And Merger of Banks

Farmers & Merchants Bancshares, Inc., Trezevant, Tennessee, intends to apply to the Federal Reserve Board, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions (TDFI) for permission to acquire Chester County Bancshares, Inc., Henderson, Tennessee. In conjunction with this transaction, Chester County Bank, Henderson, and Farmers & Merchants Bank, Adamsville will be merged with and into Centennial Bank, Trezevant, Tennessee. The Federal Reserve, FDIC and TDFI consider a number of factors in deciding whether to approve the application, including the record of performance of banks we own in helping to meet local credit needs.

You are invited to submit comments in writing on the bank holding company application to the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, P.O. Box 442, St. Louis, Missouri 63166-0442. Comments may also be submitted electronically to comments.applications@stls.frb.org.  The comment period will not end before April 29, 2019 and may be somewhat longer.
