The Lady Lions (9-2) swept their Arkansas road trip with another five-set win on Saturday Oct. 24 (25-20, 24-26, 16-25, 25-11, 15-9) over Williams Baptist (3-5) on Saturday afternoon.
It was yet another strong defensive performance for Reilly Fulton, who totaled 42 digs in the match – tying her career high – just a day removed from moving into second all-time in Lady Lion history in the category.
Emma Self and Allie Humphry both had strong outings with 25 and 23 assists, respectively. Kacey Donegan and Claire Walker had 18 and 16 kills in the win, and Bryce Morris totaled 14 digs in the win.
This game concluded the Lady Lions’ fall season, and they will start preparation for Mid-South Conference play. Before that, they will make up a postponed matchup with Blue Mountain College on February 12 before travelling to Lindsey Wilson on February 15.
On Friday Oct. 23, in a thrilling five-set match against former American Midwest Conference rival Central Baptist (8-7), the Lady Lions (8-2) were able to win (25-23, 19-25, 25-23, 17-25, 15-9) to sweep the season series.
In the back and forth win, both Kacey Donegan and Claire Walker had strong showings with 18 and 15 kills, respectively. Both outings didn’t go without the help of their strong setters Emma Self and Allie Humphry, who posted 28 and 19 assists. Humphry was active on the defensive end as well with nine digs, just missing out on the double-double.
