Holiday Events Happening in Our Area:

December 2

Breakfast with Santa
Join CCHS Theater for Breakfast with Santa from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2 at the Chester County High School Cafeteria. There will be cookie decorating, reindeer food, ornament making and a full breakfast, plus photos with Santa! Tickets are $25 per child with discounts for multiple children, and may be purchased by emailing jesse.mccaskill@chestercountyschools.org. Limited spaces will be available at the door. All proceeds go to the CCHS Theater Program.

The Annual Christmas Tree Lighting
The Chester County Christmas Tree Lighting will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, on the Courthouse Lawn and continue until 6 p.m. There will be free hot chocolate, face painting, inflatables and pictures with Santa, plus an opportunity to write a letter Santa.

A Chester County Country Christmas
A Chester County Country Christmas, to benefit the Imagination Library, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at Williams Auditorium. The evening will feature local entertainment, including Amber Garner, Anna Faith Howell, Barry Bolton, Blake Hopper, Brian McCarver, Brynli Young, Buel “Snookum” Maness, Claire Shackelford, Country Christmas Quartet, Dara Young, Henderson Hee Haw Hootenanny Cast, Hunt Pipkin, Jacob Young, Jimmy Melton, Keith Brown, Lakelin Lemmings, Noah’s Ark Preschool, Portia Bradshaw, Ray Cook, Stacy Clayton, Tim Young and the Goodtime Band and Zane Bolton. Free Christmas pictures will be offered at the Party Solutions photobooth. All proceeds will help fund the Imagination Library. Tickets are $15 each. Movie in the Park
Cub Scout Pack 25 invites the community to a free drive-in movie at Gene Record Park. “The Grinch” will begin at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2. Watch the movie from the comfort of your vehicle at 620 North Ave., in Henderson. Concessions will be available.

December 7
Henderson Christmas Parade
The annual Henderson Christmas Parade begins at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, and will travel on Main St. through downtown Henderson, beginning at First Baptist Church and continuing to Church Ave. Applications to participate in the parade are due by 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4. Email peyton@chestercountychamber.com or stop by the Chamber office at 111 East Main St.

December 8
Hometown Holiday Shopping Weekend
Visit any participating store or restaurant, Dec. 8-9, for a chance to win one of two $150 Chamber Buck giveaways, enter your name to win for every $25 you spend. If your business (retail, food, etc.) would like to participate, email peyton@chestercountychamber.com, by 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, along with any sales/deals you plan to offer on that weekend.

Lighting of the Park – Chickasaw
Friends of Chickasaw State Park will host Lighting of the Park from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. nightly, Dec. 8-10. Drive through the park and enjoy the lights and celebrate the Christmas season from the comfort of your vehicle. There is no charge for this event, but donations are accepted at the exit to help cover the costs.

December 9
Dicken’s Christmas Festival at UrbanHouse
UrbanHouse will host the fifth annual Dickens Christmas Festival from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at UrbanHouse, 113 S. Washington Ave., in Henderson. This event supports the local soup kitchen which feeds hundreds each week. Bring non-perishables to help fill the sleigh and feed those in need while supporting local artisans. Step back in time, Victorian style, to shop for unique, handcrafted gifts, and enjoy specially tailored food and drinks. Father Christmas will be on hand from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for photos.
