The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions take all four games on Easter weekend over the Tennessee Southern University Firehawks. The Lady Lions advance to 39-3 on the season, and 24-3 in Mid-South Conference play.
The first game of the day featured a pitching duel between Brittany Adair and Samantha King. Adair displayed dominance once again, giving up just one hit and collecting nine strikeouts.
The Lady Lion offense collected two runs on six hits featuring a Sophie Dunavant triple and a Caitlin Mitchell sacrifice fly to win 2-1
The second game was a bit of a different story at the plate for the Lady Lions as they circled home 14 runs while allowing just four. Morgan Crawford and Cassie Hayes both hit home runs in the contest while Kennedy Harris, Catherine Crabb, and Anna Kate Norton all hit triples. Sophie Dunavant tallied five total bases with two RBIs.
With Senior Day festivities taking place between games there were seven seniors who received recognition from the program for their outstanding careers both on and off the field. These seniors were: Morgan Crawford, Cassie Hayes, Allie Mitchell, Kennedy Harris, Sophie Dunavant, Caitlin Mitchell, and Emily Bradford.
The Lady Lions will continue their season at Bethel next weekend (April 22-23) with games Friday at 3:00 and 5:00 and Saturday 12:00 and 2:00. With Postseason play looming the Lady Lions sit at the top of the MSC and are poised to maintain or improve upon their #4 NAIA National Ranking.
