The Henderson Police Department and Chester County Sheriff’s Department delivered gifts to the homes of less fortunate children in replacement of their Shop with a Cop event.
Over $5,000 was donated for the departments to impact the children’s lives.
This year, in comparison to recent years, the number of children that they bought gifts for has increased. They helped Santa in delivering gifts to 43 children.
HPD Chief of Police Gary Davidson explained how much the event means to the department.
“We look forward to this each year. This was our third year and to see the faces of these kids, makes it all worthwhile.
“A lot of hard work goes into making this happen, and I can not thank everyone that had a part in this enough. Also without the donations from individuals and churches, this would not have been possible. We are already starting plans for next year.”
He said that if anyone desires to donate for the event next year, contact HPD’s record clerk Adrienne Holley.
While delivering to the Mathews family, one of the children even shouted “This is the best Christmas ever.”
