I can not believe we are in the last week of April! This school year has flown by, and so many great things have taken place at East Chester!
In kindergarten they are working on identifying the main ideas and key details. In math they are working with subtraction fluency as well as reviewing missing addends. In science they are learning how to take care of the Earth. They are also continuing to write a narrative story! Way to go!
In first grade they are working on prepositions, pronouns and quotation marks! They are reading a story about a little girl named Grace who lives on a farm. In math they are finishing up their unit on money and will begin reviewing all skills previously learned. They are learning about the Human Body and all of its systems (muscular, nervous, skeletal, digestive, etc.) Way to go!
In second grade they are learning about knights, kings and castles. In math they are going to be reviewing skills they have learned this year and design a garden for their castle. How fun! They will be using place value, measurement and array skills to help plan and design their garden. In reading they will be reading “Sir Gus.” They will also be writing their own fairy tales! They worked so hard on TCAP last week and will take their final iReady assessment this week. Way to go!
In third grade for reading, they are going to finish the story “Jamestown Part 1” and the work that goes with that story. In math they will be reviewing math skills! They worked so hard on TCAP last week and will take their final iReady assessment this week. Way to go!
