Annabelle Lemon Cook, 94, of Henderson passed away Saturday, July 5, 2025, at her home.
There will be a private memorial service. Memorials may be made to the Church of Christ Disaster Relief at 410 Allied Drive Nashville, TN 37211
She was born and reared in Jane Lew, W. Va., the daughter of the late Clyde and Cloe Della Cooper Lemon.
She graduated from Jane Lew High School in 1948. She graduated from Freed-Hardeman University in 1950 and married Lynn Odell Cook in 1950.
After raising her children, she received a Bachelor’s at LSU, a Master’s in Education Administration from FIU and a degree in Counseling from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Her working career was in teaching, administration and counseling. She and Lynn retired and moved to Henderson in 2005. She was very gracious. She loved God and her family.
She is survived by a son, Paul Cook of Henderson; one daughter, Beverly (Bill) Cook Watkins of Nashville; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Russell Cook in 2012; one daughter, Melanie Mitchell in 2005; three brothers, Russell, Alden and Edwin Lemon; and a sister, Ruth Reese.
