Police warn of phone scam

On Friday, July 12, The City of Henderson Police Department issued a warning to the public regarding recent calling scams.
The scammers in question are spoofing the city of Henderson Police phone number and asking for personal information, claiming that the individual called has an outstanding police warrant. The Henderson Police Department stated they do not make these types of calls and warned to refrain from giving out any personal information.
“Recently, I was made aware of someone calling citizens claiming to be me, stating the Police Department had a warrant on the person,” said Henderson Police Chief Gary A. Davidson. “The caller would try to make arrangements to settle the warrant with a payment. I, nor my department, would ever call and advise you of a warrant, asking for a payment. These scams are becoming more frequent and believable. Please do not fall for these scams,” He concluded.
