Officers with the Henderson Police Department responded to The Farm House, on Front St., at approximately 5:30 p.m. Dec. 26, concerning a report that someone was inside the building while the business was closed.
When officers arrived, they discovered the door was open, and entered the business in order to investigate, where they came in contact with a suspect, Jeffrey Teague, who was in the process of burglarizing the business.
According to the press release, Teague had made two separate piles of merchandise inside the business, had a pair of sunglasses from the business in his pocket, and was drinking a bottle of water from the refrigerator. Teague was placed under arrest. A search of his person revealed ten prescription type pills in his pocket. Officers located his vehicle, and through a search discovered an AR-15 rifle, which was seized. Investigation determined Teague, a convicted felon had personally built the rifle. It is illegal for a convicted felon to own or possess a firearm.
Teague, 56, of Nashville, was charged with burglary, two counts of possession of schedule II controlled substance and one count possession of a schedule VI controlled substance, in addition to illegal possession of a firearm. He was released from the Chester County Jail after posting a $25,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Chester County General Sessions Court at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020.
