Barry Hutcherson remains in office/Angela Scott voted in as judge

Tennessee voters headed to the polls Thursday, August 4, for general elections. According to the unofficial 2022 Chester County General Election results, a total of 3,145 votes were cast locally, which is 29.1% of registered voters in Chester County. The total includes 2,481 Republican ballots, 307 Democratic ballots and 357 Nonpartisan ballots. Results are expected to be officially certified August 22.
In the race for Chester County Mayor, incumbent mayor Barry Hutcherson took the win over Dwain Seaton with 1,881 votes to 1,201, respectively.
Angela R. Scott claimed the General Sessions Judge seat with 1,908 votes, over Jay L. Johnson with 1,028 votes.
Newly elected County Commissioners are as follows, by district:
District 1: Bubba Edgin, Kevin Faulkner and Jerry A. Lowe;
District 2: Andrea Bailey Holland, Jerry King and Al McKinnon;
District 3: Chris Dunbar (245), Johnny W. Garner (385) and Carolyn Beecham Higgins (268);
District 4: Dwight Bingham (448), Jerry D. Emerson (335) and Renee Phelps (351);
District 5: Tim Crowe (323), Brenda Matthews (241) and Barry Smith (284);
District 6: Mike Alexander (118), Ricky Hardy (123) and Todd Lewis (150).
Todd Brown is the newly elected Chester County Road Superintendent with 2,455 votes against 571 for E.O. “Tiny” Carnell.
Chester County School Board District 2’s Norris Frank lost his seat to Clay Rodgers with 226 votes to 279, respectively.
The following officials maintained their office with majority vote or with no opposition: Chester County Trustee Lance Beshires, Chester County Sheriff Blair Weaver, Chester County Court Clerk Justin Emerson, Chester County Clerk Stacy Smith, Register of Deeds Doris Ethridge, Chester County School Board District 1 Shane Connor, City of Henderson Aldermen Mark A. Barber, Donna Butler and Keith Smith, Enville City Mayor Melinda Johnston and Enville City Aldermen Shane Johnston, Wanda Kay Ritter and Nickalaus Weatherington.
