She was born in Henderson on Sept. 6, 1936, the daughter of the late Roberta Bryant and Jimmie C. Horn. In 1954, she graduated from Chester County High School and received further education at West Tennessee Business College. She worked for Chester County High School.
Most will remember her when she was employed as a medical assistant and office manager for The Medical Building in Henderson, which later became The Jackson Clinic. She was a faithful, life-long member of the First United Methodist Church. Over many years, she served the church on their administrative board and used her musical talent as a choir member, soloist, pianist, and children’s choir leader. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling, gardening, working with children at church, teaching piano and being with family. She also volunteered at Gleaner’s House, a church-sponsored group serving the needy.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Ed Morris; her sons, Jeff (Lynn) of Collierville and Joe (Charlene) of Peach Tree City, Ga.; daughter, Carol (Steve) Pope of Oviedo, Fla.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren who all lovingly called her “Nana”; and a sister, Claudia (Jerry) Moore of Greenfield.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Eugene Horn, of Macon, Ga.
