The extended season into the State Spring Fling Tournament unfortunately ended earlier than hoped for the Chester County High School Eagles Soccer team.
Though this year was the first time in the program’s history to not only win the region but contend at state, they started the tournament on fire as if they were used to playing at Siegal Soccer Park in Murfreesboro.
In just the first couple of minutes the Eagles scored with a goal by Ryan Trammel assisted by Colston Callis and ended the first half 2-0 after Chris Wilger scored with about eight minutes remaining in the half with another assist by Callis.
After going scoreless in the first half, the Millington Trojans scored themselves a goal with about 21 minutes left in the second half. Next, they scored again on a free kick in the box which tied the game putting the game into overtime.
During the extended period, the Eagles got a red card on an attempt to prevent a score and it put them a man down for the rest of the game. That was a critical call for the game which led the Trojans to get the goal they needed to win. The CCHS Eagles Soccer team lost 3-2.
As previously mentioned, this team still made their mark in CCHS history as the first boys soccer team to go to win region and go to state, with a program of nearly 20 years.
About 15 minutes away from Siegal Park, CCHS Track and Field athletes were competing in their state meet.
Over recent years, the amount of track athletes competing have continued to grow with this year being the most with 12 athletes competing in 11 events.

Boys 1600 meter race – Seventh Place Silas McManus: 5:00.36
Eighth Place Garrett Robison: 5:19.15
Boys 3200 meter race – Seventh Place Silas McManus: 10:55.29
Eighth Place - Garrett Robison: 11:47.01
Boys 4x800 meter race – Seventh Place Williams, McManus, Robison and Josh Roberts
Girls Discus – Eighth Place Hannah Rich: 97 feet and 7 inches
Girls Long Jump – Eighth Place Ke’Shiyah Allen: 14 feet and 7 inches
Girls 200 meter race – Eighth Place Dallas Talley: 26.75 seconds
Girls 800 meter race – Seventh Place Hanna Cherry: 2:30:37
Girls 4x800 meter race – Seventh Place Bella Lamb, Alexis Rivers, Daisy McManus and Cherry: 10:50:08
Girls 1600 meter race – Seventh Place Lamb: 5:52.96
Girls 3200 meter race - Seventh Place Lamb: 13:16.61
Eighth Place McManus: 14:03:07
Additionally, the CCHS Girls Track Team finished as a team in 15th place out of 52 teams.
