Posted

The Lady Eagles delivered a commanding performance Tuesday night, defeating Liberty 5–0 in a match that ended early when Liberty forfeited with 19 minutes remaining.
Claudia Bailey opened the scoring with a header off a corner kick, setting the tone for the evening. From there, Samantha Gonzalez took control of the attack, recording a hat trick with three goals—two from corners and one on a long strike from the top of the box. Freshman Alyssa Jenkins added a goal off a corner kick, further highlighting the Eagles’ dominance on set pieces.
Head coach Michael Bolton praised his team’s effort and growth after the win.
“It was a game we controlled with lots of shots and possession. I challenged the girls before the game to possess the ball more and to shoot more. They rose up and met that challenge. I am proud of them for that,” Bolton said. “Outstanding performance by Samantha Gonzalez who had three goals and several terrific passes.”
The Eagles’ blend of veteran leadership and emerging talent proved too much for Liberty, as the team showcased both offensive firepower and composure on the ball.
