Christmas break is next week, and Chester County High School students and staff are winding down their last moments of the semester. For some, that looks like taking finals in their college classes. For others, it is finishing up their first semester of high school, and many are working to make sure their grades are finalized before the break. It’s been a great semester of school, and I would like to reflect on some of the best moments from the year.
First Day of School: Students rose to their new grade level and had a great first day! The senior class celebrated their final year the day before by watching the sunrise.
Homecoming 2023: The seniors took home a win in homecoming, winning the two most significant categories: Powderpuff and Hallway Decorating. The senior class also hosted a homecoming dance that will hopefully become a new tradition.
Cross Country State Championships: The Chester County boys cross country team and Bella Lamb took on the state race and represented Chester County well!
Beta Trip: CCHS beta club members participated in the Beta Convention and won many awards. They also had a member, Jaylen Edgeston, run for Tennessee State Vice President.
HOSA week: Students celebrated HOSA week with dress-up days, a photo booth, and much more.
Basketball Homecoming: Last Friday, Chester County High School prepared for the basketball homecoming game against JCS with a pep rally. Each grade participated in Mens’ Powderpuff Volleyball, which the seniors eventually won. Later that night, Chad Barham and Jariyah Williamson won Homecoming King and Queen.
Senior Movie Night: Because the semester is coming to an end, the senior class will watch The Polar Express on Thursday to close out 2023 and the first semester.
It’s been a great semester! Here’s to another!
