The Chester County Library closed during the month of August for bathroom renevation, which completed all indoor reconstruction. During this time, storytime was held at Gene Record Memorial Park, in Henderson. The library reopened Monday morning, Aug. 26. Storytime is held at 10:30 a.m. each Tuesday morning. Each summer the Chester County Library hosts multiple community events, including book clubs, crafts, storytime and more. Library attendees create a pinecone bird-feeder at storytime program
The Chester County Library hosted storytime on Tuesday, July 9. This program was provided by Chickasaw State Park and led by Ranger Mary Katherine Walker. Guests and children created pinecone bird feeders.
Library rewards prize store winners
The Chester County Library held their prize store dates Monday, July 22, for the Children’s Program; Tuesday, July 23, for the Juvenile and Teen Program; and Wednesday, July 24, for the Adults and Contest Winners. Smoky the Bear celebrates 80th Birthday
Smoky the Bear visited the Chester County Library to celebrate his 80th birthday on Saturday, July 20. The Speaker with Smoky was Aaron Preddy, who works with Chickasaw State Park. Those attending learned about forestry safety precautions with wildfires, and each person was able to take a picture with Smoky afterwards. At the end of the event, everyone joined in to eat some cake for Smoky’s 80th birthday. The Tennessee Department of Agriculture Forestry sets up meetings like this with Smoky the Bear.
