Both teams traded empty possessions before Elam Murphy was fouled with 18.7 seconds remaining. Murphy knocked down one of two free throws to extend the Eagles’ lead to 44–42.
Madison had a chance to tie or take the lead but missed a layup, and Williams was fouled on the rebound with five seconds left. Madison secured the rebound and advanced the ball into the frontcourt, calling a timeout with 2.8 seconds remaining.
Out of the timeout, Madison looked to get a final shot, but Chester County’s defense delivered the final blow. Weaver jumped the inbound pass, stole the ball and finished a layup at the buzzer to seal the 47–42 victory.
