Posted

The Chester County Junior High Baseball team won their first district championship in CCJHS Baseball history with a blowout victory over McNairy. They won the championship game 8-0.

Last Wednesday started off the Best of The West Tournament series for the CCJHS Eagles, and the Eagles soared to a huge 5-0 win over the Henderson County South team with a joint effort by Jaden Weaver, Ross Hopper, and Ayden Sanford on the mound. The Eagles managed to do so even after dealing with a teammate of theirs getting injured.
The semi-final round was to be held at Guy B. Amis Park in Lexington, and it would be against the Lexington Middle Minutemen. On the way to the game, the coaches had two different lineups. Head Coach Chad Hanna and Coach Colby Brown entered Ethan Rhodes as a DH with Braylin Robinson coming in to play second base. Lane Estes took to the mound and held LMS to 0 for a full 6 innings with only 63 pitches. Ross Hopper ended the game with a walk off single, and Ethan Burks scored the winning run. For the first time in six years, the Eagles were going back to the championship game, and they would be facing their rival, McNairy County.
Jaden Weaver took to the mound, and with the help of his unwavering defense, the Bobcats did not get farther than first base.
The sun may have been hot, but the Eagles bats were hotter. On the first pitch of the bottom of the first inning, J. Weaver nailed it to the outfield.
Before the side was retired, the Eagles scored 4 runs.
By the start of the bottom of the 4th inning, the Eagles held an impressive lead of 7-0.
Sure enough, the Eagles scored again, and ball game was called with a final score of 8-0.
The Eagles raised the trophy for the first time in school history.
