Chester County Junior High School and Chester County Middle School will each begin the upcoming school year with new administration at the helm. Renee Thomas and Jared Shumate will be the administrative team at CCJHS. Having previously served as administrators at CCMS - principal and vice principal, respectively, Thomas and Shumate bring with them a combined 13 years of administrative experience. Director of Schools Troy Kilzer, II, anticipates this change in administration will bring continued growth and success for each school. Kilzer said, “At Chester County Junior High School, Mrs. Renee Thomas and Mr. Jared Shumate bring proven instructional leadership, having already contributed to academic success during their tenure at CCMS. Their transition to CCJHS promises continued excellence. With the addition of Career and Technical Education (CTE) and STEM courses, students at CCJHS are gaining valuable experiences that better prepare them for the challenges and opportunities of the future.” Dr. Nathan Hall will serve as principal at CCMS with Natalie Lax as assistant principal. According to Chester County Schools, Dr. Hall began teaching math and coaching in 2000, in Tupelo, Mississippi. Transitioning to an administrative role in 2010, Hall served as an assistant principal in Tupelo, principal at Corinth Middle School in 2013, and nine years following, and from 2021 until retirement, Hall served as Deputy Superintendent in the Corinth, Mississippi, School District. Dr. Hall and his wife, Allison, have two daughters, Emma, 20, and Maddy, 17. Lax has more than a decade of experience as teacher, coach and administrator in the education field. “As our community looks ahead to a new school year, we are excited to welcome the instructional leadership of Dr. Nathan Hall and Mrs. Natalie Lax as the administrative team of the Chester County Middle School family,” Kilzer stated. “Their combined experience in both teaching and administration positions them well to guide continued growth in student learning. The Chester County School District deeply values the work of the dedicated CCMS staff, whose efforts ensure a smooth and successful transition for students moving from the elementary to the secondary school environment.”
