City meets today

The city of Henderson Board of Mayor and Aldermen are scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. today, Thursday, Feb. 13, in the Council Chamber of the Henderson City Hall. The board of mayor and alderman will discuss delegations, including Police Department Life Saving Awards, Project Graduation 2025 and Tasha Johnson concerning her property at 361 E. Main St at Mifflin Ave. The board will consider approval of the bids received on installing Influent Flow Meters at the three Wastewater Lagoons and bids received on dredging the East Lagoon. Items on the agenda include discussing and considering hiring an engineer to design the water main extension on Eric Bell Dr.; discussing and considering converting a part-time utility staff position into a full-time position; considering bids received on street material/services for the remainder of 2025; considering accepting a TN Volunteer Fire Equipment Grant in the amount of $29,650 for two Air Packs (SCBA) and two sets of turn out gear; discussing and considering changing the intersection of North Avenue and Sixth Street to a four-way stop; and considering quotes received on repainting a portion of the inside of City Hall. Other business to be discussed includes a report from the Police Department on an Undercover Alcohol Sting Operation and a reminder to Board Members of the upcoming budget meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18.
