Hello to everyone! It is me again, giving God the praise to be here with you one more week. First things first, thank you, Lord, for another month and a new day – one that we have never seen before. For this is a day the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it! I hope you had a great week. I know the Holiday family did! We had a surprise birthday party for Apostle Frank Holiday, Sr. on Saturday, June 27! Family and friends from far and near came out to help celebrate. They came from Washington D.C., Memphis, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Jackson, Jack Creek, Montezuma, Texas and Henderson! He was so surprised! His children, family and friends gave him his flowers while he lives. His birthday is July 18. This young man will be 75 years young. Thank you to everyone who called and came out to help celebrate. It was a Diamond Jubilee; in the Bible, the number 75 symbolizes divine completeness, grace and fundamental points of transition, often signifying obedience, faith and the fulfillment of God’s plan. It appears in biblical contexts to highlight major spiritual milestones and divine guidance.
The City of Henderson would like to say thank you to the members and staff of Henderson | Chester County Chamber of Commerce for the 250 years USA Birthday celebration on the courthouse lawn, the parade and fireworks! Thank you for all of your hard work!
Well, July is here. Thank you, Lord, for a new month! I hope you will enjoy your Fourth of July. For my husband and I, July 3 is a very special day. This is the day the Lord blessed us with our fourth child, LaWanna. Her birthday is a blessing to us because this is another year the Lord has allowed her to be with us. Our daughter LaWanna is a survivor from cancer. She was diagnosed with congestive heart failure in 2021, but she is doing great. Her heart is not getting strong – it is strong! The Lord is blessing her. This young lady is a shero, and her faith is phenomenal. She will be 39 years old this year. To God be the Glory! My family and I will always give the Lord praise for healing her body and enjoy the time we have together as a family. Today is a new day. I hope you take the time to tell your family how much you love them because tomorrow may never come.
The month of June is gone, and July has arrived! The month of July is considered a month of fun! It is a favored month to take a vacation and spend time with family. If you are a person who likes to send cards and have fun, July is your month. July 1 is International Joke Day, American Zoo Day, Creative Ice Cream Flavors Day and National Postal Worker Day. Go ahead and make someone laugh, visit the zoo, create your own ice cream flavor and tell your Postal person how much you appreciate them. July 2 is National I Forgot Day, so remember to celebrate! International Plastic Bag Free Day, National Stay Out of the Sun Day and National Eat Beans Day are July 3. YES! I love any type of bean! July 4 is Independence Day – America’s 250th birthday! National Bikini Day and National Graham Cracker Day are July 5, so eat all the graham crackers you want. I like cinnamon ones! July 6 is International Kissing Day and National Fried Chicken Day; July 7 is Tell the Truth Day, National Strawberry Sundae Day and World Chocolate Day; and July 8 is National Video Game Day and Unplug the Drama Day! I will have some more days to celebrate for the month of July next week!
Remember to have fun on the Fourth of July; also, remember to practice safety because COVID has not gone. With a vaccine or no vaccine, always practice safety!
Congratulations to City Vice-Mayor Mark Barber on becoming a WestStar graduate! You are a hard and dedicated worker for the City of Henderson. You have earned it!
Guess who will be 75 years young on July 2? Let me tell you. He served his country for 20 years in the USMC, he returned to Henderson after retiring from the Marine Corps, he loves people, he loves to talk, he loves his family and he is one of the best school bus drivers here in Chester County. Yes, it is my BIG brother Henry “Larry” Brown. Happy birthday from all your sisters and brothers. We love you! On July 9, he and his wife Jackie will celebrate their 34-year wedding anniversary! When you are having fun, time goes by fast. Happy anniversary to you, and we hope you have many more. Remember – as I always say, “Keep the honey in the moon.”
For our Birthday list, this week the City would like to wish a happy birthday to Katrina Neill, July 1; Sylvia Jones Jonson, July 5; Henrietta Kellum Lusk, July 5; Edna Johnson, July 8; and Tania Hall, July 9. Happy Birthday! I pray the Lord will bless you with many more.
On the prayer list this week: let us continue to pray for our country, our soldiers, our police officers and anyone and everyone you know that needs prayer.
