Hello, everyone! It is a new day and a new week! For this is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it! The chill of fall is in the air, and we have been enjoying some beautiful, cool days.
I hope everyone who is on fall break is enjoying this time of rest and relaxation. Before we know it, Oct. 19 will be here, and everyone will be returning with a new attitude (hopefully a good one!) as we begin counting down the days to Thanksgiving!
Oct. 16 is Boss’s Day! If you are working and have a boss, I hope you will do something nice for him or her. Even if they get on your last nerve sometimes, remember that you can always choose to do something kind for someone! I have been blessed to have wonderful supervisors throughout my working years. One thing we should always remember as leaders is this: You lead by example! A good leader sets the tone, inspires others and leads with integrity. To all the bosses out there, Happy Boss’s Day!
Get ready, Chester County! The West Tennessee State Fair is coming to town Oct. 15–24. Come out, enjoy the festivities and let us show our support for this community event!
Early voting is here! Make your voice count! Early voting begins Oct. 14 and continues through Oct. 29. I hope you have taken some time to study and understand the three proposed constitutional amendments that will appear on the ballot in the upcoming election. If approved by voters, these amendments could bring changes to Tennessee’s governance related to crime and property taxes. It is important that we understand what we are voting on before heading to the polls. Please visit the Tennessee Secretary of State’s website to read the information about the proposed constitutional amendments before deciding whether to vote YES or NO. Please go to https://sos.tn.gov/elections/announcements/2026-proposed-constitutional-amendments#2026. Remember that an informed voter is an empowered voter!
On the prayer list this week: Please pray for Pete (Gerald Collier. He is in the Jackson General hospital. Please continue to pray for all bereaved families, the U.S.A. and our children and families.
