Sgt. Cody Cloud and Deputy Kyle Cupples were recently recognized as being top submitters of Handle With Care notifications in 2025 for the Chester County Sheriff’s Office.
“Handle With Care” enables first responders whether that is law enforcement, fire or EMS to notify schools if they encounter a child at a traumatic scene, so schools and mental healthcare leaders can provide trauma-sensitive support right away.
The statewide Handle with Care program is being coordinated through the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Dangerous Drugs Taskforce through a state grant. Technical assistance, training and program support is provided at no cost to the county.
This program has been active in Chester County since September 2022. Sheriff Mark Griffin said, “Our deputies continue to prioritize the well-being of the students in our community as evidenced by the recognition of our deputies for their contribution.”
