New Friendship & Mifflin Community News

Hello to all from this little corner of the world. The sun was out Sunday, and the sky was blue. Wow! Mother Nature has really been keeping us on our toes. Do we need a jacket, umbrella or sweater? Sunday started out chilly, but the sun does help warm us up. Saturday, that wind could cut right through you. Birds are visiting, and the temperature was 44 at the time of this writing. It was supposed to rise to 50 degrees and be 23 during the night. The high temperatures for the upcoming 10 days start at 58 degrees and rise to 72 degrees. The night temperatures vary from 31-53 degrees. This will carry us through March 3. This also is if Mother Nature remembers her script.
We are working on our Easter Musical at Friendship Baptist Church. It is beautiful, touching, moving music, and there will be characters involved. More about this as we get nearer to time.
Condolences to those who have lost loved ones.
Happy birthday to Jerry Rogers, 2-17; Margie McGhee, 2-18; Dwayne Williams, 2-21; and Taylor Morris and Josh Westbrook, 2-24.

Also, pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and first responders.
“The deepest level of worship is praising God through the pain, thanking God during the trials, trusting Him when we’re tempted to lose hope, and loving Him, even when He seems distant. At my lowest, God is my hope. At my darkest, God is my light. At my weakest, God is my strength. At my saddest, God is my comforter.”
I pray you all have a wonderful week and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home. Until next week, Happy Trails to You.

Hello from Enville! Hopefully, you all are enjoying your week. Winter showed its face last weekend with freezing temperatures, but it warmed back up nicely for the rest of the week. Our yard sure is getting green. It will need mowing before too much longer; gotta get the lawnmower ready soon.
The Enville Volunteer Fire Department will have a spaghetti supper and cakewalk fundraiser on March 2. It will begin at 4 p.m. at the community center. Mark your calendars!

Montezuma Community News

This will be short since we have an early deadline due to Presidents’ Day. I am away celebrating my birthday weekend.
Watch for an upcoming date for a “Montezuma Big Country Breakfast and Bake Sale.”
Montezuma sends out happy birthday wishes to Allen Cook on Feb. 23, Imalee Montgomery on Feb. 24, Mason Wells, Sherry Thompson and Braylon Sanford on Feb. 25, Kelsa Turner, Tammy Thomas and Addison Grace Stanley on Feb. 26, Wanda Cook on Feb. 27 and David Cox, Randi Burke, Aria Quarles and Granville Russom on Feb. 28.
We need more community involvement for our center and would like to invite people to join in. Annual renewal dues are $25 after your first initial year of joining. Membership dues need to be paid now to be considered an active member. We also take donations. Payments can be mailed to Edith Sills at 4475 Sunshine Rd, Henderson, TN 38340. We appreciate all our members and would like to have more events if we can get enough help to do so. Call Ann Moore at 608-2033 or myself if you have any new ideas for the center or wish to get involved. People who want to rent the community center should contact Betty Cooper at 879-9078 for booking. We ask those renting our facility to please follow our rules and show respect for the building. We try to keep it in the best order possible, and it takes everyone cooperating to make that happen. If you care about this community, please get involved in what is taking place to continue to grow our county and make it a better place to live and raise a family. Get to know what is changing in our local government, schools, churches and communities through the news, friends, your church, teachers, etc., and if it matters to you, there are ways to help make things better.
There is much spiritual warfare with society accepting things that go against who God is and what HIS laws are that we are to follow. Every day of life has its challenges, but if we look to God for the right path, it can be a good one. Please pray for our local government and federal government, law enforcement, school staff, teachers and the listed individuals of Frank Naylor, Donna Doyle, Carolyn Goff, Jimmy Cooper, Jeff Brewington, Melanie Pratt Hudson, Renee Jordan, Wesley Whitman, Imogene Naylor, Betty Cooper, Ruby Hannah, Donnie Brooks, Linda Plunk, Wayne Frye, Lee Trice, Patricia Ledford, Mike Tedford, Clint Murley, Sherry Fletcher, Chuck Beacham, Sandra Lott, Faye Crouse, Janice Morris, Lisa Bishop, Jeanette Walker, Paul Schilling, Nancy Crouse and others that are sick or healing. We especially want to remember the families of Danny Burl Smith, LaVerne Morris Lott, Doris Bailey Bright Ross and other families that have recently lost loved ones.
I am always looking for noteworthy news to share in this column. Please send to gaylescox1977@gmail.com or text me at 608-2857.
As always, I am wishing a very blessed week to all you readers. Until next time!
Deanburg Community News

Greetings from Deanburg! I hope you all have had a good, healthy week.
I am feeling somewhat better. I just keep praying I can get some strength, get over the vertigo and get used to these glasses.
Continue to pray for Woodie Deming, Kristen Jones and Joyce Stewart. Woodie really needs prayers right now. Remember our law enforcement, first responders, and our nation! Please pray for people who have lost loved ones.
On our birthday list are Kimba Harris and Joey Lillard on Feb. 24. Celebrate big time!
Our devotion: “In God you can find courage to conquer the obstacles of your day!”
“The world can be a frightful place. We are bombarded with messages that make us fearful and anxious about the future. But God has not given us a spirit of fear! Dr. Jeremiah suggests that the opposite of fear is courage! You need courage to conquer the battles you are fighting! And certainly the world needs to know that God delivers just that-courage to face tomorrow!” From: Dr. David Jeremiah, Turning Points, ‘Standing Strong!’
Do not forget our community center for all your parties, reunions, baby showers, wedding showers, birthday parties, etc. May God bless each of you richly! To report any news my number is 879-9777.
