Not sure what everyone else is thinking about our weather, but it has definitely been a very wet May. The climate changes we are now experiencing make you stop and think about what is causing so much of it. I am no weather expert, but I just usually say, “God knows best,” and go on, but then again, what are we doing to make all this happen? In the beginning it was a more perfect world, and then People sinned and caused the changes. It is past time to stop and think about how things are going to be going forward. We have one book of instruction that can be our guide, and I pray that you are aware of what I mean by that, and if not, just give me a call.
Montezuma sends out Happy Birthday wishes to Mendi Moore and Cecila Murley on June 1. Montezuma sends out Happy Anniversary wishes to Lonnie and Shirley Morton on June 2.
We need more community involvement for our center and would like to invite people to join in. Renewal dues are $25 after your first initial year of joining. Membership dues need to be paid now to be considered an active member. We also take donations. Payments can be mailed to Edith Sills at 4475 Sunshine Rd, Henderson, TN 38340. We appreciate all our members and would like to have more events if we can get enough help to do so. Call Ann Moore at 608-2033 or myself if you have any new ideas for the center or wish to get involved. People who want to rent the community center should contact Betty Cooper at 879-9078 for booking. We ask those renting our facility to please follow our rules and show respect for the building. We try to keep it in the best order possible, and it takes everyone cooperating to make that happen. If you care about this community, please get involved in what is taking place to continue to grow our County and make it a better place to live and raise a family. Get to know what is changing in our local government, schools, churches and communities through the news, friends, your church, teachers, etc., and if it matters to you, there are ways to help make things better.
There is much spiritual warfare with society accepting things that go against who God is and what HIS laws are that we are to follow. Every day of life has its challenges, but if we look to God for the right path, it can be a good one. Enjoy what time you have with your creator, your family and friends. Please pray for our local government, County Commission Budget Committee as they start preparing the budget for the 2024-25, our federal government, law enforcement, school staff, teachers and the listed individuals of Devenda Frank, Mike Frank, Donna Doyle, Norma Sue Kitchen, Jerry Fletcher, Janice Schultz, Bobbie Bethune, Jimmy Smith, Mark Hall, Curtis Morrison, Renee Jordan, Wesley Whitman, Ruby Hannah, Donnie Brooks, Linda Plunk, Lee Trice, Patricia Ledford, Mike Tedford, Clint Murley, Sherry Fletcher, Chuck Beacham, Sandra Lott, Faye Crouse, Janice Morris, Lisa Bishop, Jeanette Walker, Paul Schilling, Nancy Crouse and others that are sick or healing. We especially want to remember the families of Tammy Pusser, Brittany Foster Morton and other families that have recently lost loved ones.

As always, I am wishing a very blessed week to all you readers. Until next time!

Hello from Enville! I hope you all are having a good week. It is a rainy mess outside. I am praying we can get a couple of weeks without rain so the farmers can get back into their fields. I am hearing some say they will probably have to replant. We pray for those in the paths of tornadoes during the last week; it is so sad!
I hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend with family and friends. We went to Grenada, Miss., and stayed in cabins with my sister and sister-in-law. There are four cabins. We used to occupy all four, but so many of our family members have since passed on, so we are down to two. We surely miss those who are not with us anymore. Danny lost his long-time fishing partners, whom he had for many years!
Glad to see our friends and family back in town at the breakfast table at Maggie’s. We always miss you when you are gone!
Happy birthday wishes go to Pat Weatherington on May 31, Don Willis on June 5 and Bobby Maness on June 6. Happy anniversary to Michael and Sammie Jo Middleton on June 1, Rick and Sherrie Kendall on June 3 and Brian and Nickie Franks on June 4. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Please pray for Lisa Bishop, Robert and Linda Johnson, Mary Lee Guyon, Agnes and Robert Smith, Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Emily Freeman, Ashley Pugh, Shirley Hampton, Della Mixon, Kaye Killingsworth, Anita Needler, Ann Pugh, Mary Lou Avent, Janice Massengill Strickland, Tim and Tabitha Hampton, Justin Godsey, James Vinson, Jimmy Robertson, Rick Ooley, Mike Frank, Mike Pugh, Glenn Butts, Jeff Finley, Doyle Bishop, Mike Finley, Lee Trice, Clint Murley, those who have lost loved ones, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military, our county and country and, as always, each other.
If you have news to share, call me at 608-3058, or if you want to rent the community center, call Pat Cates at 688-5125. If needed this week or next, call Melinda Johnston at 608-1390.
Have a week everyone!

Hello to all from this little corner of the world. I wrote this early due to the holiday schedule. The topic of the day is RAIN! We all know it has been raining and raining….I hope the farmers’ seeds do not rot from all this rain. Is this a possibility? This question is from a city-raised girl turned country. The weather channel predicted strong storms for Sunday. We have been blessed, and I ask everyone to mention those affected by the storms and tornadoes. I cannot imagine everything remaining in splinters with nothing left. Cleanup, more rain, heat, humidity. Pray for God’s mercy and strength on those in need and also without utilities, not to mention those who have died in these storms. Thank you.
Monday, May 27, was Memorial Day. This day is set aside to honor those who have died in service to our country. My husband was in the Marines, and we have friends that were in different branches of the military, and I am thankful they made it back home. I am very thankful yet sorrowful for the ones who died serving this country and the families who lost loved ones while serving. May God continue to give each of you comfort and strength to carry on in memory of your loved one. God bless.
Well, school is officially out, and many will be traveling for vacations. I am glad everyone will get a mental rest. Enjoy the summer break and then get ready to move on to the next year. There are those who have recently graduated that are beginning their life anew. I wish you all the best in the future. For many it is hard to decide what they want to do after graduation, but the main thing is to DO SOMETHING! There are some who know what they want to be. I wanted to be a nurse. I got married, had two children and finally went back to school 10 years later. That is okay. There is no written reason for decisions now. Some will go on to college, some will choose a trade school and then there are those who want to work and start on their own. It is all okay. I hope you will include God in whatever you choose. I know a lot of young people put that aside for a while, but I can attest that there will be a time when you will need Him and, hopefully, you will rekindle a relationship with Him like no other. This is from a 70 year old. I and every other person have had their days of straying and growing up. It takes happy times and trials and tribulations to get here. Enjoy life; it goes by faster than you think - REALLY!
Condolences to those who have lost loved ones.
Happy birthday to Ayden Sanford, 5-27; Brandon Berry, 5-28; and Marla Davidson and Devin Scott, 5-30.

Please pray for our friend’s furbaby Rosie. She is a 15 month old Wire Haired Fox Terrier that is sick. She is not eating and has lost weight, and the vet has given her medicine; she is a sweetie, but this could be a potential lethal health issue. I know there are a lot of animal lovers out there, and I believe in prayer. We would appreciate it VERY much. God bless.
“THY WILL BE DONE” by Helen Steiner Rice – “God did not promise sun without rain/Light without darkness, or joy without pain/He only promised strength for the day/When the darkness comes and we lose our way/For only through sorrow do we grow more aware/That God is our refuge in times of despair/For when we are happy and life’s bright and fair/We often forget to kneel down in prayer/But God seems much closer and needed much more/When trouble and sorrow stand outside the door/For then we seek shelter in His wondrous love/And we ask Him to send us help from above/And that is the reason we know it is true/That bright, shining hours and dark, sad ones too/Are part of the plan God made for each one/And all we can pray is ‘Thy will be done.’/And know that you are never alone/For God is your Father and you’re one of His own.”
I pray you all have a wonderful week and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
