The Chester County Commission is scheduled to meet in regular session at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at the Chester County Courthouse. The commission will begin the meeting with the election of Chairman and Chairman Pro Tem. They will hear nominations to fill the sheriff’s vacancy until the November election. The board is also set to approve end of year reports, budget amendments, the Planning Commission Board, Library Board and the Solid Waste fee and collection. Budget committee recommendations include the following: Elections to purchase security boxes to come out of County General Fund about $20,000; Pay 10% Match of grant to Solid Waste to purchase trash container boxes – grant over $101,000; and Work on Private Act to add anything covered under the exemption clause for Wheel Tax Addition. Purchasing Committee recommendations include: Accept bid of purchase of new skid steer using insurance money and remainder coming from Solid Waste; Accept the bid for the new forklift from Recycling; Accept the bid of the Contractor Design Team for remodeling and addition to the Health Department paid from ARPA grant and county match. In addition to public comment, approval of notaries and any other business, other agenda items include approval of reorganizing of the Health and Educational Board and approval of a Proclamation for Missy Barrett Day – A day to do good deeds.
