At the March 18 meeting of the Chester County Lions Club, the Servant of the Month award was bestowed upon local man Adam Cross. A Chester Countian for 21 years, Cross was recognized by Lion Milton Sewell for his service to God, his family, and to the community.
Cross is a very active board member for the Dixie Youth Baseball program. He coaches one baseball team and two softball teams in the spring, and his son’s soccer team in the fall.
He leads the Disaster Response team at FHU, helping in Mayfield, Ky., Selma, Ala., Lake Charles, La., and Adamsville.
He is a volunteer sponsor of Phi Kappa Alpha Social Club at Freed-Hardeman. Cross teaches the Youth Group at Henderson Church of Christ and helps chaperone youth trips and service projects. He lives for Christ and treats everyone right. Everything tends to fall into place when he puts God first and treats others as he would like to be treated. His wife, Allison, described Cross.
“He is diligent in working things that he thinks are important-- church, FHU, recreation. He is passionate in what he believes. He wants to help others to improve.”
