Danny Warren Goodwin passed on to his Heavenly home early Saturday morning Jan. 3, 2026, after battling aggressive cancer for two years. He was home and surrounded by his family on the day before.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Unity Baptist Church with Bro. James Huggins officiating. Burial followed at Unity Cemetery. The family received friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel in Henderson from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 5, and again from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
He was born March 10, 1945, the son of the late Warren and Loulean Goodwin. He lived in the Cabo and Jacks Creek area all his life.
He graduated from Chester County High School in 1963. He retired from Gerdau Steel in 2007 after 24 years. He loved family, hunting, farming and anything outdoors. He was a faithful member of Unity Baptist Church where he served in many roles with one being a Deacon.
He is survived by his wife, Janice; son, Richey (Wonda) Goodwin; daughter, Molly (Bert) McClanahan; son, Michael (Mary) Goodwin; five grandchildren, Shelby (Luke) Stone, age 33, Nick (Katie) Mayfield, age 27, Kera (Zach) Eaton, age 23, Mia Goodwin, age 18 and Mac Goodwin, age 14; four great-grandchildren, Emma, age 11, Grayson, age 6, Jake, age 3 and Neveah, age 3; his brother, Lynn (Sandra) Goodwin; sister, Pam (Jeff) Young; and many friends and family members.
