Deanburg Community News

Oops! There was a misprint in last week’s news. Walter Plant, an amazing pianist and singer, will be at Pleasant Springs Methodist Church at 6 p.m. on Saturday evening, June 14. Everyone is warmly welcomed.
Prayers requested for Nancy Rush who had surgery on Friday. Her surgery went well. Still praying for Tony and Judy Concialdi, Mary Dell Gilchrist, Carolyn Goff, Dot Bratcher, JoLiene Harris, Shirley Mainers, Sylvia Alexander, Travis Middleton, Colt Dees, Mark and Renee Landers, Sandra Landers and Rickey Quarles. Prayers also for Tina Florida’s family, Mrs. Emma Ross’s family, Eddie Morton’s family and the family of the truck driver who passed away in the horrible wreck last Thursday. I have not heard who he was. People need to be aware of the loads that trucks carry, which make it difficult to stop.
Happy Birthday this week to Jerry Oliver, a first cousin. His family and church family gave him a big surprise party on Saturday. It was a lot of fun seeing cousins that I do not see often. His birthday was June 11. Also, happy birthday to Cathy McKinnie, June 11; Shaniah Carter (great-granddaughter), June 13; and Linda Robertson, June 14.
Deanburg Community Club met on June 3 with a few members. Sure would like to have more attend. Members requested prayer for Lisa Massengill, Tina Burkeen’s dad, Cora Talbott Rose, and Reese Collins who will have surgery. Hopefully, it will go well so she can still play ball. Colt Dees is recuperating. There are a lot of reasons to give thanks to God. To rent the Deanburg Community Club building, call Shane Burkeens at 608-7262. Call me at 731-988-5122 with news or announcements. Until next time, take care!
