Hi there! I am back after a few weeks gone.
I spent five days in the hospital due to my heart and breathing. Thanks to the swift arrival of the ambulance, the great ER staff, all the good nurses I had and, most of all, the great presence of my Lord, I am so much better. I am not 100% yet, but I feel I will get there. Thank you so much to my family and friends who were praying for me. Believe me, I could feel the love. But I missed so many activities - Too many Sundays from church, the Deanburg Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinner, The FCE Club’s Lunch with those special friends, my work family Funeral Home Dinner…those friends are so special to me. Sorry to have missed all of you.
The Deanburg birthdays are Brandy Cain Brown, Ava Haynie, Mary Dell Gilchrist and grandson Joshua Quarles, Dec. 4; Rickey Quarles, son, Dec. 12; great-granddaughter Nevaeh, Dec. 13; Ray Lamport, Dec. 14; Kaitlyn and Hunter Ross, Dec. 16; Kaitlyn Henson, Dec. 18; Kaden Harris, Maria Enfinger and Chris Julian, Dec .19; JoLiene Harris, Dec. 20; Travis Roberts, Dec. 23; Buddy Collins, Dec. 25; Tiffany Mays, Dec. 26; Laura Andrews, daughter and Katrina Arnold, Dec. 27; and great-granddaughter Jasmine Smith, Dec. 31.
Deanburg sends special anniversary wishes to Joe and Mary Dell Gilchrist, Dec. 26.
Deanburg Baptist Church is pleased to welcome Bro. Eddie Larkins and his wife, Lisa. If you have been looking for a church, try this group. You will be warmly welcomed. Sunday school is at 10 a.m. with 11 a.m. worship service.
There is always a lot of sickness in winter; this season is no exception. JoLiene Harris has been missed at Pleasant Springs Church. She has been our pianist most of her life. Shirley Mainers and Sylvia Alexander are absent as well. Hopefully, we will all be able to return soon.
Others on our prayer list are Dot Harris Bratcher, Billy and Judy Loftis, Tony Concialdi, Sandra Landers, Carolyn and Orban Goff, Kathy Griffin, “Mary,” Cora Rose, Ann Lowrance, Kristin Ferguson, Jerry and Ann Lowe, David Gilchrist, Bill and Lisa Cox, Gwen Parrish, Chelsea Rodriguez, Darren and Stephanie Hatch, Joe and Mary Dell Gilchrist, Mark and Renee Landers, Dixie Mays, all the bereaved and all the First Responders, Military and Law Enforcement (all the people who protect us).
Remember always what Christmas is really about – the birth of our only hope, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Merry Christmas to all! Until next year, take care.
