Good morning from Deanburg! The Deanburg Community Club met on Tuesday, March 3. Some were absent because of sickness or traveling. Homecoming will be April 25. Everyone is invited as always. After much discussion, we voted to increase yearly dues to $20 and rental to $50 to $400 depending on the amount of time needed. We have not changed the rates since 1986 when the club was formed.
Bobby Tulley reported for the fire department. Everyone must have a burn permit. There will be none issued until May 1.
Pleasant Springs sang Happy Birthday to Shane Gunn, March 10. Special music was by great-granddaughters Jasmine and Carly.
JoLiene Harris is at Cades Center. She still needs prayers as well as Nancy Lofton who is sick. Happy Birthday wishes to grandson Ethan Ross, March 12; Dixie Mays, March 14; granddaughter Jessica Quarles, March 16; and Tracy Harris, March 18.
My oldest nephew died in February. He was the only child of Robert “Bob” Arthur and Gladys Collins Oliver. Memorial service at a later date. Only aunts and cousins survive. He had been confined to a wheelchair since 1974 caused by a car accident. His dad went to Chester County High School, graduating in 1951 and going into the Navy soon after.
Remember that chair yoga will be at 1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at Silerton Baptist.
