Eagles open 2026 season with 5–0 shutout

Posted

The Chester County Junior High Eagles could not have asked for a better start to the 2026 season, shutting out Henderson South 5–0 on Tuesday night behind a combined no-hit effort on the mound and a strong first inning at the plate.
The Eagles wasted no time getting started. In the top of the first, Maddox Lewis drove in the opening run on a groundout. Sawyer Ferrell followed with an RBI single to center field, and Brett Wilson put the ball in play down the left field line, where a third baseman’s error allowed another run to score. Just like that, Chester County led 3–0.
That early cushion was more than enough.
Lewis earned the win, striking out two in a scoreless inning to open the game. Talon Clayton, Kasyn Hannah, Bray Crouse, and Ferrell combined in relief to finish off the no-hitter, keeping Henderson South off the scoreboard and without a hit.
At the plate, Hannah led the Eagles with two RBIs, going 2-for-3 as the Eagles continued to apply pressure and add insurance runs.
