After a tough loss earlier in the week, the Chester County Eaglettes didn’t waste their chance to respond.
Chester County used a big third inning and a strong night in the circle to knock off rival Lexington 7-1 on Thursday.
The Eaglettes broke the game open in the third, scoring six runs to take control. Brentlee Burgess got things started with a two-run single, and Karsyn Knipper followed with a two-run double. Reece Collins and Jillian Patterson each added RBI singles as Chester County strung together quality at-bats throughout the inning.
That was more than enough support for Addy Parker.
Parker turned in a complete-game performance, going all seven innings and allowing just one run, none earned, while striking out four. She mixed pitches well, kept Lexington from getting anything going, and worked out of trouble when needed.
Burgess and Knipper led the way offensively with two RBIs each, while the Eaglettes spread the offense up and down the lineup, with multiple players recording hits.
The win comes just days after Lexington handed Chester County a loss at home, giving the Eaglettes a strong bounce-back performance against a district rival.
