The Chester County Eaglettes came up short Tuesday night, falling to South Gibson 12-5.
Chester County got off to a solid start at the plate. Aayla Howell singled to bring in a run in the first inning, and Georganna Pickens added a sacrifice fly to give the Eaglettes an early 2-0 lead.
The Eaglettes answered again in the second inning. Jillian Patterson delivered an RBI single to put Chester County back in front at 3-2.
South Gibson used a big third inning to take control, and the Eaglettes were unable to recover the rest of the way.
Chester County finished the night with eight hits. Patterson led the way offensively, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Howell and Brentlee Burgess also collected two hits each.
The Eaglettes showed patience at the plate, drawing five walks in the game.
Addy Parker got the start in the circle for Chester County, and Patterson worked in relief.
Chester County continued to battle throughout the game but couldn’t close the gap late.
