The district championship games for both the girls and boys were battles between Chester County and South Side.
To get there, the Eaglettes had a bye along with South Side. The Eaglettes defeated Lexington on Friday and South Side barely got past McNairy the game after during the semifinals.
Then, in the championship game, the Eaglettes were outperformed by South Side. It is hard to defeat a team three times, and after having two wins versus South Side during districts, the Eaglettes could not manage to pull off another one for the district title putting them in second place in the district as they enter regionals on Friday. The final score was 46-35.
The Eagles had a bye as well like South Side. In the semis, they faced off against North Side. During the game against the Indians, it was a competitive first half, but the Eagles pulled away in the second half to get a 67-60 victory.
Like McNairy almost defeating South Side in the girls tournament, Lexington almost defeated South Side in the district semifinals as Lexington had a chance to win but missed a last moment that would give them the win.
The Eagles played South Side on Tuesday.
This issue was published prior to the game. Read the Chester County Independent next week for those results.
