The Chester County Eaglettes used a late push to pick up a 4-2 win over Hardin County on Tuesday.
Chester County struck first, taking a 1-0 lead in the opening inning. The Eaglettes held that lead until Hardin County answered in the fifth, scoring twice to go in front 2-1.
Chester County didn’t wait long to respond.
In the bottom of the sixth, the Eaglettes put together the game’s biggest inning. Reece Collins drove in a run to tie the game, and Chester County added two more runs later in the inning to take a 4-2 lead.
That was enough for the pitching staff.
Addy Parker started in the circle and kept the Eaglettes in the game, working five innings and allowing two runs. Jillian Patterson came on in relief and secured the victory by throwing two scoreless innings and striking out three.
At the plate, Addison Newland led Chester County with two hits. Collins drove in a run, while several Eaglettes contributed in a balanced offensive effort.
Chester County also played clean defensively, finishing the game without an error.
The Eaglettes improved with the win and continue to build momentum as the season moves forward.
