The Chester County Eaglettes picked up a 3-1 win over Riverside in a scrimmage Thursday night in a game that featured strong pitching on both sides.
Chester County broke through in the second inning when Kymber Martin singled to center and Deslynn Ingram brought in a run on a groundout to give the Eaglettes an early lead.
They added another run in the third on a groundout by Brentlee Burgess to extend the advantage.
Martin got the start in the circle and kept Riverside off the board through two innings, allowing just two hits. Addy Parker worked three innings in relief, giving up one hit and one run while striking out three.
Reece Collins, Addison Newland, Karsyn Knipper, Martin and Emma Cox each recorded a hit for Chester County. Burgess and Martin drove in runs, and the Eaglettes also turned a double play on defense.
Chester County opened its regular season Tuesday (3/3) when they would host University School of Jackson.
