Eddie Dell Morton passed away Saturday afternoon, May 31, 2025, while working on his farm. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Wednesday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Geary officiating. Burial followed at Chester County Memory Gardens. The family requests memorials to be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the American Heart Association.
He was born in Kansas and grew up in Henderson, the son of the late Udell and Mary Catherine Cory Morton. He attended Chester County schools and married Beverly Plunk, April 30, 1983. They made their home in the Montezuma Community of Chester County. He was a self-employed utility contractor for many years; later, he worked for First Choice Farm and Lawn in Savannah, a Kubota dealer. He was currently southeast sales representative for Loftness Manufacturing Company, selling forestry mulching equipment.
He enjoyed working on his “hobby farm” and taking care of their place at the river. He enjoyed bush-hogging for friends and neighbors and watching Zack play golf. He was a faithful volunteer at the Chester County Bar-B-Que Festival, having been a recipient of the annual “Bobby King Volunteer Award.” He always worked alongside Beverly in Relay-For-Life and Lions Club events.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Plunk Morton; a son, Zackary Edward Morton of Henderson; one brother, Vernon Lynn Morton of Henderson; and two sisters, Kim (Phil) Morton Nelson of Mason and Lori Jane (Randy) Morton Foster of Henderson.
