Mrs. Emma Ross, 99, departed this life on May 28, 2025, in Nashville after a brief illness. Funeral services will be noon Thursday, June 5, at the Beech Springs Baptist Church. She graduated from Chester County Training School and was a lifelong member of the Beech Springs Baptist Church.
She was known as Ms. Emma and Auntie. She worked at the Essary’s Florist for many years, helped her husband with the family farm and retired as a cook with the Jacks Creek Elementary School where she was known for her famous yeast rolls.
She is survived by three daughters, Regina (Simon) Morrow, Willie Sharon Ross and Patsy Ross; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaiah Ross; parents, Charles E. Hopkins, Sr. and Willie Maude Trice Hopkins; stepmother, Nellie Cawthon Hopkins; and siblings.
