Hello from Enville! I hope everyone is having a great week.
What did y’all think about the cold blast early in the week? I was not ready for it myself, but the temperatures rebounded nicely for the rest of the week.
Our Enville Community Club had a great veterans’ dinner and program last Tuesday night. We had several veterans and families in attendance. Everyone enjoyed a delicious meal. Don and Frances Willis had a meaningful appreciation program, and Anita Needler gave the meaning of each item on the Missing Man Table. There were two Honor Guards from Memphis who did the folding of the flag, and the meaning of each fold was read aloud. We also had members from the American Legion in attendance. We appreciate the service and sacrifice of each veteran, not only on Veterans Day, but every day. Thank you all!
Annie Massengill, along with Nita Middleton and several of her family members, enjoyed a trip to Orange Beach, Ala. They witnessed baptisms in the ocean from the church they attended on Sunday, and a young family member was also baptized. That was a glorious week for them. They had lots of fun, laughs and some great seafood. We are glad you all are back home safely!
Happy birthday wishes go to Brian O’Neal Nov. 15, Danny Johnson on Nov. 16, Nelson Crowell and Aiden Jones on Nov. 17, Nita Middleton and Bobby O’Neal on Nov. 18 and Frances Willis on Nov. 19. If you see these out and about, wish them a happy birthday. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Please pray for the family of Nannie Nixon and continue prayers for Harold Maness, Robert Smith, Robert Johnson, Mary Lee Guyon, Mary Lou Avent, Ann Pugh, Shirley Hampton, Della Mixon, Kaye Killingsworth, Nancy Philyaw, Tommy and Linda Wade, Jimmy Robertson, James Vinson, Danny Johnson, Jeff Finley, Glenn Butts, Rick Ooley, Mitchell Willis, Mike Lott, Mike Finley, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military, schools and school board, our county and country and, as always, each other.
