Hello from Enville! I hope you all are having a good week. I hope the kiddos are getting into the groove of studying again after Spring Break as well as all the teachers!
We are in the middle of Holy Week, the final week of Lent and Jesus’s life on earth. It commemorates the seven days leading up to Easter. It began with the commemoration of Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, welcomed with palm branches. Holy Monday commemorates Jesus cleansing the Temple of money changers. Holy Tuesday commemorates Jesus’s final teachings in Jerusalem and predictions of his betrayal. Holy Wednesday often called Spy Wednesday, commemorates Judas Iscariot conspiring with authorities to betray Jesus. Holy/Maundy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper, the institution of the Eucharist, and the washing of the disciples’ feet. Good Friday is a somber day commemorating the trial, crucifixion, death and burial of Jesus. Holy Saturday represents the day Jesus lay in the tomb; it is a time of waiting and quiet reflection. Easter Sunday celebrates the Resurrection of Jesus, marking the central feast of Christianity (Wikipedia). Hallelujah! Christ is Risen and lives today!
There will be Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Services at many churches in our area. Please attend and experience the blessings. Sanford Hill Baptist in Henderson will have a Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m. out by the crosses. Everyone welcome!
Happy birthday to Savannah Middleton on April 3 and Lexi Harwell on April 5. Happy anniversary to Keith and Stephanie Middleton on April 3. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
